little tornadoes
imagine all your thoughts become intrusive:
infatuation affliction preparation thrift
and comparison dress the salad
of hours with contaminants
making everything bare
or unbearable
little torn-
adoes.
salt curses invited into mind’s sweet water
sink solemnly beneath it. whirlwinds
dust earth over unguarded food
in low trays. breathe
as though this is not
an interrogation
then breathe
normal-
ly.
