In June ZiN's guest was Cameron Rogers, a writer from Canada who came to Ližnjan to work on a movie script of one of his novels. Cameron was also a guest of Dmetri Kakmi, his editor and our June-writer-in-residence. Although the two live on two different continents, the writer and his editor meet as much as they can whether it happens to be in Istanbul, the capitol of Dmetri's country of origin or somewhere in Finland, where Cameron lived for a while.
Cameron Rogers was born in 1972 in Cairns, Queensland, Australia and currently lives in London, Canada. His first work to be published was a young adult novel, entitled The Vampires. In 2001 Cameron released his novel The Music of Razors which was published by Penguin Books in Australia and by Del Rey Books in the United States. The Music of Razors was nominated for three awards at the 2001 Aurealis Awards – fantasy, horror, and young-adult categories. His new novel Quantum Break: Zero State was published in 2016 by A Tor Book, New York. He also writes for children under the pen-name Rowley Monkfish and is a writer for the computer games industry.
