Decorating
The pottery, the posters, and the plugs,
are critical when arranging a room.
Then working out the other little bugs,
there’s always places more than you assume.
You want a nook where everything seems right,
but in an unexpected way; spacey,
In how it makes things fit, yet casting light
that somehow makes what’s normal seem crazy.
The furniture must complement the space,
awkwardly crafty in its comforting;
appliances must enervate the place
with sounds and lighting that are not pristine.
Those entering, and taking time to look,
should feel as though they’ve opened up a book.
