A Black Rain

The black rain drizzles.

My friend holds

a transparent umbrella

over his head. The face

I see in the haze of that canopy

has ceased to be his.

Some tenebrous streaks

cage its features.

Only his eyes show some

modicum of the mind.

And I do not shout his name,

invite him in my dwelling.

The noise and the blur proves that my house is sailing away

from him, backward,

erasing the present with the past.
